First, while using a 10" Celestron telescope to study the earthshine side of the new moon last month, I began to notice a very unique "glowing blue area" on the surface of the moon that I have never seen before -- or ever heard of. So, after observing the phenomenon for about a half an hour, I went inside and Googled on the computer the term "blue glow on the moon" and found several stories about the mysterious phenomenon that ranged from ilmenite material in certain moon craters which could amplify sunlight sometimes and thus appear to illuminate the crater area -- to "top secret" alien radioactive power stations on the moon .
As an artist who has experience in fluorescent paints that can glow under certain ultraviolet conditions, I concluded that evening a benign explanation in which the "blue glow on the moon" was perhaps an impact site where a meteor hit the moon long ago and scattered some kind of fluorescent pigment material which can "glow or shine brighter" when earthshine light is present.
Then -- as if to suggest a different explanation of the mysterious phenomenon, the next morning while viewing some random Internet videos, I came across a video wherein the physicist by the name of Michio Kaku was explaining how an advance galactic civilization could theoretically place robotic probes on planetary moons to "observe lower level civilizations" like ours on earth. He mentioned the movie "Space Odyssey 2001" wherein the plot included a "robotic probe on the moon" and how it was used to communicate with an advance galactic civilization.
Mr. Michio Kaku also theorized that living beings from advanced galactic civilizations may exist not as mortal creatures who use spaceships for travel, but rather as intelligent energy beings which could travel between robotic probes.
Now, after experiencing these recent events and while trying to avoid fictional viewpoints, my original conclusion regarding the mysterious blue glow on the moon was being challenged by newer views as to the truth of the matter.
I realize the study of astronomy and celestial physics can sometimes include radical theories that may exceed the simplistic understanding of nature -- but, for now, all I can do is to share these recent events with the public and hope for a truthful explanation as to what I saw on the moon the other night.
Reporter 1: Did you attempt to view this "blue glow on the moon" the following evenings? And if you did, could you see it again?
Duane: I did, but used a smaller telescope and did not see it. The site area was washed out by the light of the brighter crescent part of the moon.
The thing is, that after learning on the Internet that the phenomenon existed as a known "Transient Lunar Phenomenon" -- or a "TLP" located in and around the Aristarchus Crater, I assumed other people were aware of it and it was only news to me. I read an Internet article that even the astronaut Buzz Aldrin saw the site area while orbiting the moon during the Apollo missions. He also stated that a "fluorescence" appeared at the site area.
In any case, the idea that the cause of the blue glow phenomenon remains a mystery which I hope to better understand. Perhaps the next interview I may have more data on the subject.
Reporter 2: Regarding the subject about "advance galactic civilizations" you just mentioned, do you believe there is or ever was a physical link between the
civilization of Atlantis and any exterrestial alien civilizations?
Duane: As I've mentioned before in other interviews, I have not seen any evidence that would physically link the wonders of the Atlantean civilization with any exterrestial alien civilizations.
I will say this though, I have heard of the term "ultra-terrestrials" -- as in theoretical "energy beings", which may exist here on earth and apparently anywhere in the universe, that can influence physical reality in certain ways by using real human beings like us as surrogates.
Without getting too metaphysical, perhaps these "energy beings" exist as "spirits" or "angels" that inspire us with certain thoughts and can travel through time as well as space because they are not restricted like us by the laws of physics.
Moreover, when I see animated computer models which try to capture and scale the shape of the known universe into a spherical cluster of galaxies that represents the "physical reality" where we as mortal human beings live, I always try to imagine what lies beyond the placement of the model example.
These animated computer models treat time as starting as a "big bang event" some fourteen-plus billion years ago, but never quite explain the physics of a possible infinite universe. As to what physically existed beyond the singularity event of "the big bang" incident, apparently no mortal human being will ever know for sure.
So, regarding your question, although the astronomical math suggests alien life may exist elsewhere in the universe and may have once influenced early civilizations here on earth long ago, I see the wonders of the Atlantean Civilization as a "home-grown entity" but could believe "ultra-terrestrials" -- or "spirits" may have somehow influence it's development.
Perhaps movement of these "spirits" are restricted to the speed of light and can travel on the frequency of light itself -- if so, then a "life force" beyond our current understanding of nature may exist and be awaiting discovery by the public someday.
Reporter 2: If you believe in theoretical spirits that roam the universe, then you apparently believe in ghost -- is this true?
Duane: Well -- not exactly. First, let me say that I have never seen any spirit or ghost in person. And that's perhaps the way it should be because when one starts to see objects that are not physically verifiable, it can open a confusing unconscious world that overlaps the real world with fake imaginary objects.
However, I have experienced an unique event wherein on the night my mother passed away, I saw a light in the house flicker rapidly for no apparent physical reason as if her spirit was "signaling" the light -- so, perhaps spirits do exist. Ghost, on the other hand, may be only an illusionary spirit that is visible to those who want to experience the event.
It was explained to me once during a seminar at a college campus that if a shining light bulb is physically destroyed, the electrical energy that makes the light bulb shine is not lost, but continues on in other light bulbs.
Using this analogy, perhaps the spiritual energy within all of us is connected by way of an unknown electrical frequency to some kind of "intergalactic Internet service" wherein collective information -- like the real physical Internet, is shared at near the speed of light.
So eventually, when our body dies, like the broken light bulb example, and "gives up the ghost", our spirit, like electricity, lives on at some level in a timeless place somewhere else.
Reporter 1: I have to ask because of your unique abstract philosophy -- have you ever tried or used any hallucinogenic drugs?
Duane: There was a time some thirty-plus years ago, I once experienced the time-distortion effects of tasting "blotter acid" and then enjoyed a windsurfing event one afternoon. And of course, I used cannabis to "get high" when it was available -- but I have to say, these days I choose to "get high" on computers and all of the entertainment sharing capabilities they provide.
The problem with "drugs" is that they put a "drag" on reality -- which for some people is good because they need to slow down a little and appreciate the details of life. But for the most part, whether the drugs are uppers, downers or outers, drugs interfere with reality -- and can be very unhealthy in how they are applied.
I have to say that once, while under the influence of cannabis I picked up a large grasshopper and was amazed at the detail of it's design. If I was "not high" and did the same thing, I would have probably just looked at the bug and give it little thought as to how it was designed.
Funny enough, that "high" long ago -- and other inspirational events like it, has made me more conscious of life's opportunities and how I see the details within nature
today.
Reporter 2: Has anybody ever called you crazy because of your unique abstract philosophy?
Oh -- not to my face, but many probably think I'm crazy. Actually, I don't mind being called a little crazy because I feel I'm no more crazy than most people.
They say however, that a sign of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. My obsession with the subject of Atlantis seems like I keep repeating my theories over and over to whosoever will listen may suggest a bit of insanity -- but at least I'm not mad about it.
Now going mad is a violent type of craziness -- which I believe I'm not capable of.
Reporter 3: A quick question to clarify your theory regarding how early Mayan timekeepers kept annual time. You have stated that Mayan timekeepers used a seven-day
weekly calendar system when in fact the current understanding is that Mayan timekeepers used a five-day weekly time count. Could you comment about this discrepancy please?
Duane: Because Mayan timekeepers used a "parallel calendar" known as the "Tzolkin time count" of 260 units to align timekeeping events, and because there exist a total of 52 "work-weeks" at 5-days per week that equals the unit value of 260, early historians some hundred-plus years ago misinterpreted and published the Tzolkin time count to the wrong count value.
We should remember that Mayan timekeepers and managers interested in work productivity for the civilization did not count the 2-day weekend rest period of a 7-day week.
So, with this in mind, if you study certain Mayan pyramids and their 4 sided stair count values that represent seasonal day count values, the total of 364 "days" becomes divisible by seven 52 times -- or 52 weeks per year. This count leaves room for a "year-day" celebration at the top of the pyramid every year to equal 365 days per year.
Reporter 2: According to you research, you believe the Atlantean Civilization once used long ago certain "particle-beam tools" to cut and create large earthworks
projects like the seaport of Atlantis. You also suggest that this lost technology may have been rediscovered by a Mr. Edward Leedskalnin who built the "Coral Castle" site
in southern Florida prior to World War 2. Have you any further suggestions as to how this lost -- yet rediscovered, "particle-beam" technology was used by Mr. Edward
Leedskalnin to build his castle out of coral stone?
[Updated response: 3/14]
Duane: Well, it may be only just a coincidence, but I was born in Miami not far from where Mr. Edward Leedskalnin died almost nine months earlier. How this fact relates to the idea that we both may have or had knowledge of this lost technology is interesting to say the least.
I will say this, Mr. Edward Leedskalnin -- or "Mr. Ed" as he is also known in some online forums that discuss his work, did use some kind of radical technology to cut and move heavy stone rocks in a way no other modern scientist today can fully explain. I remember reading in some published literature years ago that he may have used a kind of "liquid fire" technique to cut and shape his stonework projects -- and he did have apparent access to small uranium crystals, because he discribes in his writings about observing "ray flashes" from them when cutting them down in size.
The knowledge regarding the use of radioactive fuel available to him -- which if used within a parabolic lens made of platinum, could possibly explain how he may have created a particle-beam cutting tool to shape his rocks.
How he could have moved or leveraged the large stone rocks into place might be explained by the "expanding acoustic pushing force" associated with the "nuclear activity" within a set of parabolic lenses mounted against each other and wedged on opposing stone rocks.
There exist many examples of how ancient technology was used to carve and move megalithic stonework all over the world -- and the artwork at Coral Castle is a testament that this knowledge can be rediscovered again.
Reporter 2: So far, your theory that the city of Atlantis was carved out of stone is only based on Plato's description about the place. Is there any source material
other than yours that would suggest the city of Atlantis was carved out of stone near a lake in Central America?
Duane: It's interesting that you should ask that question because just a few weeks ago I came across a story on the Internet that a German scientist by the name of Joachim Rittstieg discovered a unique circular pattern of stone material at the bottom of Lake Isabal in Guatemala some years ago.
Now when I discovered this story I was very excited to learn that perhaps the lost seaport of Atlantis does exsit just a few miles east from where I theorized it was nearly three decades ago.
Mr. Rittstieg believes that the site area could be related to a circular formation caused by geological forces that may have been the foundation of the lost seaport -- which makes sense because it would have been easier to reshape a large natural mound of stone into the circular dimension as described by Plato.
I should add that after reading some details of his website, his other research work regarding the timeline of ancient history and Mayan studies are not in alignment with my views -- but, as with any treasure hunter, sometimes you have to dig through a lot of invaluable material to find the "glory hole".
In any case, with not finding any information as to the depths of Lake Isabal in Guatemala for years, this discovery about a circular place of stone material within the muddy bottom of the lake is the kind of verification I've been searching for a long time.
Reporter 1: Are you currently listed with any social network service? And if not -- why not?
Duane: No -- and I have no current plans to sign up with any social network service that places distracting advertising images and unrelated information alongside my research work.
Besides, the time that it takes to participate in online social activity -- like posting small comments or uploading images with friends, is time taken away from the work I enjoy the most.
I guess I'm not a very social person who likes to get involved in personal matters of other persons. Does that make me an anti-social thinking person?
Perhaps -- but when too many people try to influence or interfere with your private time space, the situation can become political. And that can really take your private time space away.
Regarding politics, the socialistic policies of the current US government is, in my opinion, taking us in a direction away from personal freedoms.
When I was in the seventh grade, I remember a social studies teacher explain governmental evolution wherein he drew on the chalkboard the ideas that Capitalism and
Communism will eventually merge and become Socialism.
If that was to be true, then the former USSR -- or "Union of Soviet Socialistic Republics" should have been the perfect government system. But it wasn't because too much governmental power, like absolute power itself, corrupts absolutely -- or so the statement goes.
The bottom line is that freedom of choice -- together with the imagination to properly use it wisely, should always be the direction of government.
